i reject the notion of performative snacks!
Also inside: so much Lisa Says Gah, the sticky boobs that I actually swear by, and more
Hi all! Happy AUGUST!!! Hope this is the best month of your summer yet :)
Something exciting that I just recently learned about is that Urban Outfitters is doing, I think, their first big summer sale ever? I got my interest in UO re-piqued for the first time in many years last fall in the UK, and I gotta say they have continued to hold my attention.
So… here are my picks for the sale! Some stand-outs:
this Aperol tee ($27 on sale) that I miiiight have to snag
this lovely ‘frock’ ($48 on sale)
this vintage Ralph Lauren striped button-down ($35 on sale)
Reminder, Urban Outfitters is on TYB, which you can use to get $$ off!
Last things I’ll leave you with in this section are this snapshot of ice cream with the girls last week:
And this highly divisive Instagram post (I personally actually really like three of these snacks, sorry if that’s performative!!):
Now, onto more good stuff!
B.N.W.T.
1. Clear Skies Lounge Shirt from Free People, $30
Reminder that we’re around the time where tons of summer stuff goes on sale on Free People!
2. We The Free Cabin Chore Jacket from Free People, $70 (on sale)
And they even seem to have some really good fall + winter stuff from last season 👀
3. Fitted Mock-Turtleneck T-Shirt from Weekday, $18
I’m still so confused about what this brand is (I think it’s from Sweden?), but it seems very cool?? If anyone has reviews or thoughts, let us know!
4. Vail V-Neck Sweater from Rumored, $54 (on sale)
It says ‘al dente’ on the left chest :)
5. grippy CAKES circles™ from Cakes, $23 (on sale)
I’m sure you’ve heard of Cakes before, but adding my voice to the chorus, I’m a big fan! I actually use the “sticky, not icky” ones a lot (because unfort I am not well-endowed in the chest lol) and they are a summer essential AND they are currently on sale!
Get Thrifty
1. Lisa Says Gah Tank from Depop, Size S, $65
I got a Lisa Says Gah skort in my Nuuly box this month, and it is the most comfortable piece of clothing in my closet. HOWEVER, my budget is not in a place for full-priced Lisa Says Gah (although you can get $$ of if you sell with Lisa Says Gah and ThredUp!), so the theme of this Get Thrifty section is all Lisa Says Gah!
2. Lisa Says Gah Tank Top from Depop, Size S, $50
Another classic food graphic tee, and NWT 😮
3. Lisa Says Gah Leather Mules from Vestiaire Collective, Size 35.5 IT (5.5 US), $75
If you have feet that would fit in these, I am jealous of you!
4. Lisa Says Gah Crew Neck Sweatshirt from The RealReal, Size M, $56
With a little Lisa Says Gah patch on the left side!
5. Lisa Says Gah Pullover Sweater from ThredUp, Size XS, $40
It’s giving Ron Weasley, but also I would expect someone to wear it in the new Devil Wears Prada movie.
Shop Small 4 Ever
1. Thank You Bag Heirloom Tomato Candle from DW Home, $35
On the tomato fragrance trend, and I think this would be a really fun vase or pen holder when the candle is burned down.
2. Moonflower Claw from Winona Irene, $26
Stunning and handmade!
3. Freshwater Pearl Earcuff from Tatjana Appelhans, $38
I am still in the market for a non-piercing silver ear cuff, and this one is high up on my list at the moment.
4. Jade Ring from Fondeur, $34
One thing about me is that I love a simple, single stone ring :)
5. Skyla 2-in-1 Glasses Case Holder from Pretty Simple, $20
I have been SEARCHING for a case that held two sunglasses, wow!
More Fun Stuff
Some Substack reads I’ve really enjoyed recently:
“Long books for long summer days - part 1” from Amani Hope of Books & Banter
“Fall Fantasies” (SAME) from Dina Fierro of Yet Another Substack
What are our thoughts on the new Gap x Beis collab??
I had a remarkably good Nuuly month to be honest… but I still find myself being super curious about BNTO. Stay tuned (my qualm is just I don’t know if it will work for the professional outfits I need!)
Just found out that one of my faves, The Nudge, is expanding to Charlotte and San Diego, and they’re looking for people who like to make content about fun stuff to do!
Also, two other newsletters that I’ve been really liking for sale recs, etc. are The Newsette and TheSkimm (as always!).
The most-clicked links in the last ATSC were:
That’s all for now! See you next week xo

lovely to see you enjoyed my newsletter 🥰📚thanks for sharing
